Family Roots

Intimate, window-lit portraiture and a focus on emotional stillness reveal how history is perpetuated in my family's faces, customs, and home environments. Instead of evoking nostalgia, these images, which were shot in subdued monochrome using natural light, focus on the conflict between spoken tradition and silence, faith and secularism, and presence and memory.
